FAQs

What types of accommodations are available at The Residences at Seashore Point?

There are a variety of floor plans available.  One-bedrooms and two-bedrooms of a variety can be chosen.  Features include a full kitchen with refrigerator and ice-maker, glass-top stove and self-cleaning oven, microwave, dishwasher and garbage disposal as well as a stacking washer and dryer.  There is also a laundry room on the second floor that offers a large capacity for blankets and comforters.  Heat and air-conditioning are individually controlled by you.

We heard you are a condominium but your fee is higher than a typical condo?

You purchase your unit as a condominium.  This provides you all the benefits of home-ownership, without the maintenance headaches.   In addition to the benefit of potentially gaining an increase in value, you may have the opportunity to apply for financing, if necessary, from a local banking institution.  You also receive all the wonderful services provided at the Residences at Seashore Point.  Your fee is based on a myriad of typical condo services, plus concierge service.  Additionally, should you desire, you can receive meals, housekeeping and should your needs change, you will even be able to receive home-health services.

What about taxes?

You will be responsible to pay real estate taxes as applied to your specific unit.  These tax payments are deductible as real estate taxes each year on your annual tax return.

What other features does the community offer?

  • A lovely restaurant-style dining room serving lunch and dinner every day.  A private dining room where you can entertain friends and family.
  • A large fully-equipped fitness center and a group exercise room.
  • A multipurpose function room with a large screen TV.
  • A well-stocked library.
  • A pub for social cocktail hours.
  • Other spaces where you might share a variety of events with friends and neighbors.
  • Each resident has reserved parking. Underground garage parking is available for an additional fee.

What types of events and programs are available?

There is a full schedule of things to do.  You can assist in the planning of this schedule so that we plan things that you want to do.  Programs may include:  lectures and classes; exercise programs; social events such as wine and cheese receptions and local artists receptions and showings; committee meetings; shopping trips; music programs; armchair slide shows of worldwide locations; chef demonstrations; worship services; movies and more.  You decide what you want to do.

Are Pets allowed at The Residences at Seashore Point?

Yes, pets are welcomed as long as the resident is capable of caring for that pet. We also like to meet the pet prior to move in. We will also require a pet deposit to cover any additional costs created by having a pet. Of course, if this is not needed, the deposit is refundable.

What if assistance is needed with daily activities?

Residents can choose any or all of the services needed, while still living in their condo.  Some of these services might include: assistance with bathing and dressing, assistance with getting to the dining room, assistance with managing medications, or any other personal care services required.

What is the difference between a not-for-profit and a for-profit organization?

A not-for-profit operation reinvests any profits that are made, back into the organization.  It needs to be financially solvent and able to cover costs, and any overages go towards updating equipment, offering better benefits to staff and increasing the services provided.  Seashore Point is a 501(c)3 charitable organization, affiliated with the parent organization Deaconess Abundant Life Communities – serving persons through the aging process since 1889.  For more information about Deaconess Abundant Life Communities, visit the website at www.nedeaconess.org
